“Chilcote is a skilled physical actor who opens the production in a 10-minute freeze, holding the crown in an outstretched hand. She flows sinuously among the other actors, sometimes at a distance, other times intimately close, maintaining a serene, dispassionate expression. She tangibly shows God “as an active presence in the messy, delicate, and dangerous political situation,” as Miller comments in his program note.

LadyM is a powerful piece of theatre about an important topic that has been hidden, shunned and shamed for far too long. But it doesn’t hector or preach. It is a loony – no lunar – laugh-fest that leads to some novel ways of looking at something half of us experience.”

Antonia is played with relish by Francesca Marie Chilcote and watching her wobble on edge of disaster and narrowly escape with her ridiculous stories is a chief pleasure of the show. Chilcote luxuriates in Antonia’s calculating playfulness and is a consistent delight to watch.

“Silent Reflections is an animated show, with a side of bitter satire that’s as classy as its monochromatic presentation. It is, indeed, silent (well, mostly)…The full result is pure poetry…Chilcote stands out for her ability to reconnect with the childish wonderment of Womanhood.”
